Emiliano Santarnecchi
Associate Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School
Dr. Santarnecchi is an Associate Professor of Radiology, Neurology and Psychiatry and the director of the Precision Neuroscience & Neuromodulation program (PNN) and Network Control Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Santarnecchi's research combines multimodal neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and computational modeling to understand brain function and to guide personalized Neuromodualtion solutions for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions. Currently, his team is developing computational models of meso- and macro-scale brain functions ("Virtual Brains") to expedite early-stage hypothesis testing for novel therapeutic solutions in conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Depression, PTSD, and brain tumors. Dr. Santarnecchi is also the co-founder of Sinaptica Therapeutics and Horizon Neuroscience. When he is not working, Dr. Santarnecchi enjoys painting miniatures, crafting fantasy dioramas, and fighting with ChatGPT.
